Hooray for animals! GOTTA LOVE CRUDE OIL!!

OFF CAPE FINISTERRE, Spain (CNN) -- A crippled tanker carrying more than 19.6 million gallons of gallons of heavy fuel oil sank 130 miles off Spain's northwest coast Tuesday, leaving Spanish authorities scrambling to protect the coastline in a region where fishing is the primary industry.

It's being said that if everything braeks open, it'll be twice as bad as the Exxon spill.

Fuck.

They got caught in a major storm. Seems to not really be there fault, but jesus fucking christ, this is going to utterly destroy the ecosystem.

Hopefully since the ship sank intact, MOSTLY, that it won't leak too much, and the pressure will keep it from leaking. It won't dump out 20 millino gallons at once, but more like 5000 gallons a year or something not nearly as bad, but still a problem.

We should go to solar power, or something :( I hate destroying the earth. (RANDOM TALKING TIME)

Bio last year, I told the entire class the best thign for the earth in the longrun is a nuclear holocaust of the entire human race. We've only had the power to do what we want for what? 10k years or less? And we've destroyed fucking everything. Way to go humans. Ever read Ishmael, Lee? You might like it.

no i haven't mr goodmaster. what's it about / should i?

i hate what we're doing to the earth though, it's so disgraceful. there's nothing that can be done though, the only talk the powerful people seem to hear is that off the mighty dollar.

i want to leave the earth the same way i got if, because there's no chance of leaving it any better :(

Reminds me of the oil spill in pembrokeshire 1996 where 70000 tons of crude oil was spilled over a pretty important european wildlife conservation area. This was about 30000 more tons than that of the exxon spill. ?The last time I went down West Wales/ Pembroke was about 2-3 years after and there was pretty much no trace of such a disaster and a year before that there was minimal crap on some of the beaches.

We also talked about that.  It would be a GREAT limiting factor, but a crippling virus might be better.  At least mankind could continue that way with lots of infrastructure intact.
