I live on Cape Cod. For those of you that don't know, Cape Cod is a summer destination for rich old white people on the eastern most part of Massachusetts.
The population is about 96% white people, meaning only 4% are out to kill me. There's certain laws here which keep things in an old traditional style, and prices expensive. There's no buildings above 3 stories, no chain restaurants, no nightclubs, and no poor people. The average resident doesn't have a computer, doesn't care about politics, and most everyone owns a boat.
"What is there to do in the wee hours of the morning?", I wondered to myself. I set out to find the answer. While I wouldn't expect much in the winter, it's now the summer so perhaps the tourists would be around for my entertainment. Society teaches us that night time is when the murderists, rapists, and just plain ugly people come out. I decided to test this theory. Dressed in black to disguise myself from drunk drivers, I set off into the night.
Unfortunatly most pictures came out too dark to see anything. This can be blamed on my crappy camera, and the fact it was foggy with some drizzle.
1:47am Home - I set off in my sister's Chevy Prizm with zero power.
1:58am The Harbor - Night fishing isn't in these days I guess. Not a soul to be seen.
2:03am Downtown - Not many shoppers at 2am.
2:11am Hospital - The place looked closed. And here I though sick people knew how to party. Notice UFO in top right.
2:22am Parking lot - Why do they light the entire parking lot when all the stores are closed?
2:28am ??? - UFO sighting #2.
2:35am Convenience store - I found a CVS open and thought now would be a good time for candy. I decided on gummy worms and Mike and Ikes.
3:02am Beach - Last stop of the night. The Atlantic ocean in all it's fury.
I came across less than 10 cars total, and only saw about 3 places open. For a population of 33,000 that's pretty lame. Someone needs to teach these people how to party hard.
Feel free to share any stories you have about the wild nightlife where you live.
