Had an inmprint of the back of my skull about three inches behind the nose, ?which in turn created a crack straight through the board...

ouch, do you plan on getting a new board though?

Nah,  never was really good and hardly ever have the time.  Plus I am not the best swimmer in the world...  but the real deciding factor is the money.

Ok too be honest When I mean not really that good...  I have been surfing about 20 to 25 times(somewhere in there lol)  and I have only ever caught and surfed 8 waves.  And number eight really doesnt count because thats the one where I broke the board.

poor board D;

well if money is a factor and yew aint a good swimmer, you should look into sponging (ie. bodyboarding). its alot easier since you ride prone, its relatively cheap, safer, and the board wont kill you if it spears you.  give your kids a couple of cheap morey boars at costco and take em to like sherwoods or waikiki.
