how about a really beefed-up aids type virus. that'd put us all on our arses without effecting our environment. :D

even better if it could target the money-grubbing fiends that wreck the place, leaving the rest of us to kick back and relax  :pimp:

Ishmael is about this kid who is looking to learn the Earth, etc. Really know things. He finds an ad that simply says "Looking for student to save the world. Only serious answers reply" Or something. It's a gorilla that is the teacher, and is just a great book. Try to find it sometime. The author also wrote Story of B, and My Ishmae, continuations of the same line of thought.

They got caught in a major storm. Seems to not really be there fault, but jesus fucking christ, this is going to utterly destroy the ecosystem.

Hopefully since the ship sank intact, MOSTLY, that it won't leak too much, and the pressure will keep it from leaking. It won't dump out 20 millino gallons at once, but more like 5000 gallons a year or something not nearly as bad, but still a problem.

We should go to solar power, or something :( I hate destroying the earth. (RANDOM TALKING TIME)

Bio last year, I told the entire class the best thign for the earth in the longrun is a nuclear holocaust of the entire human race. We've only had the power to do what we want for what? 10k years or less? And we've destroyed fucking everything. Way to go humans. Ever read Ishmael, Lee? You might like it.

no i haven't mr goodmaster. what's it about / should i?

i hate what we're doing to the earth though, it's so disgraceful. there's nothing that can be done though, the only talk the powerful people seem to hear is that off the mighty dollar.

i want to leave the earth the same way i got if, because there's no chance of leaving it any better :(

dude this environmental science class I am taking is really enlightening and helpful.  If you really think there isnt much you can do and I am finding we might be able to do more than we think.  Do not be too sad about it, because Earths wrath is coming and she isnt thinking retribution shes thinking revenge.

do they ever transport oil by plane?  They really should, then they dont have to worry bout dropping the oil in the ocean as much.

Yes nimec this would be even worse.  what happens if the plane goes down or for some reason explodes in mid-air.  The oil could/would be spread across many many miles of the area and might even lace the clouds and cause severe acid rain for many weeks.

It was a good idea and it greats that you are wishing to help.  Unfortunately the ocean is a safer transport method, but there are ways they could make ocean transport much safer, but unfortuantley it would cost much more to implement and tanker companies would definitly lose alot. Since there are no ways to force them to do so it would almost not likely happen.

Good idea. They can use one of the many planes that can carry 20 million gallons of oil.

Well yes then there is that.  I was looking more on the economics side, now that you mention it though most refueling planes are only able to carry a few hundred gallons of fuel(some reach 1000 I beleive).  Even then you have remember that fuel and crude have a definite difference in there weights.
