get a board with either the KT333 or KT400 chipset and the fastest Athlon XP (i forgot which on) that runs at 333mhz.
cuz the only form of broadband available (atm) in meh area is satallite, and thats 80 bux a month ?:mad:
1-way satellite, like i have, is very very good. It runs 100x better than 56k for mutliplayer games. Even though its not nearly as good as DSL, its still a huge jump from 56k. Its also $39 for one way (www.direcpc.com) get a 1-way WHITE dish. I get uploads at 2.4KB/sec (fuck) but 300+ KB/sec download (win)

i woudl recommend getting pc2700, or pc 3200 (like meh)
i went to frys and they had a sale, 512 pc 3200 ddr for 150, which is the cost of pc 2700 so i bught it with food stamps :cool:

i suggest razer boomslang 1000 for mouse...ive used one forever, and i love it. (plus, if you call them and say it fucked up they send u another one w/o even checking)
what r u doing for monitor? never use a flatscreen, LCD sucks major schlong.

cant go wrong with more ram...DEFINATLY use AMD, and you seriously need to get broadband...the machine will be obsolete w/o higher speed connexion, you'll need a good heatsink or fan or both...ummmmmmm get a good mic, a 7200 RPM harddrive, a fast cdrom...if you want to get REALLY in to it, i suggest looking into scuzzy ports and whatnot...but other than that, i think its been pretty much all covered.

I don't know anything about wut monitor I'm getting, i don't want a mouse with a ball (bitch to clean out :x ) and for the broadband i chexed the site and it sez liek 560 bux startup and then 60 bux a month afterwards for satallite ;_;

optical mice are ok, but they can fuck up every once and a while...mebe while u are almot about to kill a dude but your MOUSE FUCKS UP AND YOUR LIKE OH NO AND HE SHOOTS YOU AND YOU DIE AND YOUR LIKE AAAH #### MY MOUSE!!!
...and its not hard to clean if you just blow inside it like once a week, and keep ur desk dust-free...
as for monitor, i suggest you get like a 19" normal ass big glass monitor.
you dont want a scsi for gaming.
and you want a better vidioe card unless youre playing halflife + intenet
