Of course if you have an enormously wide building with a couple of floors, it will not fall over.
Buildings as large as the WTC take a lot more than an airplane to take it down. The difference with the WTC was that it was made very cheaply (very ugly too, according to most people), with the majority of the supports along the outside of the building, like an eggshell. This, along with the fact that they were both very thin and the burning fuel from the planes brought them down.
The Empire State Building, for example had an American bomber plane crash into it some time around World War II, which is significantly smaller than an airliner, but the damage was reparable.
I personally believe they should build the tallest building in the world there, but actually put some real money into it. A thicker, single tower with a different internal structure can not be brought down so easily.
