First off, I would like to say I know there is allready a thread on this movie here, but I wanted to start my own :P

Ok, i give this movie

, mainly because I am a big fan of war drama/action movies. If you are a fan of violence, watch this movie. if you squeal like a 3 year old girl when you see blood, steer clear of this movie. It was, i must say, one of the most violent movies I have ever seen...and even though i have a very tough stomach when it comes to gore, there was one scene that made me almost lose my lunch (ill just say, i wont be eating BBQ for a while...)...

...as for the plot, it was kinda minimal. a troop of burly men go into vietnam and shoot the shit out of some charlie. the part that got me though, was the interaction between soldier and wife, and how much attention the movie payed to the horrors of losing a loved one, especially losing them to a bloody war.

mel gibson isnt one of my favorite actors, but i have this weird attraction to him...err, his movies. his character in this movie however, i did like. i respect men like him, men who will kill a man w/o blinking, but only to save himself, or his men. anyone who has seen this movie, will know what i mean when i say "red book", and that part made me respect his character even more.

all in all, this is a good movie, more so for the action aspect of it, but it is also a good mixture of drama, plot stuff, and blood sprays, and as i said before, if you can handle violence, go see and enjoy it, but if you cant handle violence, (lol, get out of ;0) dont see it.

You probably already know how I feel about this movie, but oh well. I kinda thought the wife scenes wre just sorta thrown in to botch an emotional aspect of the movie. They were rather poorly implemented and served only as breaks between the action scenes, nothing more. It didn't fail as badly as the love scenes in Pearl Harbor, but they weren't all that great.
