..is crap. I can't believe I wasted my money on it. I was hoping it would be something similar to GTA3 and vice city but it was crap. All you do is race around to different places and they are a bitch to find cuz all you have are the blinkers on your car to show you the correct way. Then when you go out of your car and run around, the camera angles suck. When I was running around a small corner, I had to run blindly cuz there is no way to adjust the camera. So, half the time I would run into enemies that I could not even see at first and end up getting hit a lot. If I was you, I would rent it first and then if I liked it, buy it. But if you like the GTA series like me (and probaly everyone else in the world) you wont like The Getaway all that much.

I heard that it was one of those title that was a neat concept and had a lot of potential, but sucked as an actua; game.
Couldn't really care though since I don't have a PS2 (thank ye lord).
yes thats what I would classify it as. They could of made it a realistic looking GTA but it was nothing like that or anything even good.
I heard they made it before GTAIII, like 6 months before.
it was orginally supposed to come out on the PS but they went back and redid it...i guess it needs a lil more work. Man Getaway's graphics and car licenses + GTA everything else would = best game in the world

Whatever... compared to GTA3 and Vice City The Getaway totally owns. The car blinker thing to tell you where to go is awesome. Adds a new level of integration for the vehicles. As for the camera angles yeah they were not the greatest, but shit neither where GTA3. Got killed several times because of GTA3's crappy cams and cam shifting. As far as GTA series, they where pretty damn good till three came out. At least The Getaway had a good plot and really stuck to the story. GTA3 has not real plot. Ooh I am a criminal let me go do bad things. GTA3 sold so well because there are so many wiggers and wannabes out there that want to be hard but are afriad of the consequnces(for this I am glad for criminal activity is just retarded). So they use GTA3 as fix for them being a total pussy. Also helps the fuckalls who get there asses beat on an every day or everyother day basis.
P.S. This isnt an attack directly at you nimec. More like a direct attack on GTA3 and its fanboy domain, because it truly is a worthless game.
GTA3 was just simple fun. It didn't try to have a great story or anything serious such as that. As for sucky camera angles... Well, I own the game on PC where the cam is always locked right behind you, so I wouldn't know about the PS2 version.
I highly doubt I'm a wigger, wannabe, or pussy because I enjoy the game.
