new install of 2k not picking up joystick

not picking up my cyborg 3d stick.

 

ive checked the usb port by plugging my mouse in it, it works.

 

actually it picks it up but can only ID it as a usb device.

 

any ideas?

 

edit: i think actually wut its picking up on is my 2 usb ports that sit in a pci slot and plug into the motherboard.

 

in 98 se what i did was add 2 com ports and they automaticalyy assignened them selfs to this expanison thing. but adding com ports dosent work now.

 

so wut does this expansion thing count as? i cant find anything that sounds like it under add new hardware.

Try reinstalling all the drivers invovled in the pathway from mainboard to joystick,  if this does not work then update your drivers.  Ultimately though I would reccommend you just get WinXP Pro.  It is so much better than Win2K, in my opinion anyways.  I have yet to expirience any probs with WinXP Pro and with Win2k I have had 5 blue screens(2 at boot up)
