The Spam Song - Monty Python
I associate it with ;0 because, let's face it, we're all a bit spammish in some way. :) IRC is an orgy of caps, LOL's, screaming, STFU's, and nonsense. The forums are a collection of witty one-liners, poor English, and with the new injection of ex-OTF members, a bit of a retarted quality to it.
However, if you've heard the song (If not, download it), you'd know that you hear the words "Lovely Spam!" and "Wonderful Spam!".
This is where we stand out from the typical mundane spam.
Our spam is sensible, to say the very least. Our spam can easily be picked up and extended upon, rather than "lololololololol", though that is an ingenious quote, if I ever saw one. Ours is enjoyable, not irritating. Our spam will still be held in regard to the topic at hand. We do not Goatse (Unless there's a fgt in town) and we do not flaunt Tub Girl. We are "spam-lite", yet so much more as well. Fuck, we're even considering a radio station, and that hints some form of organisation!
And think about it. How did ;0 start? A bunch of folks from the OTF banded together and created it. I think it is rather necessary that we pay homage to what we spawned from.
But what's important is that this "spam" unites us. This "spam" brightens our days. This "spam" is the dialogue for a bunch of schmucks who sit at their computers and are willing to close out their social life just to talk to some people they've never met, yet make them feel comfortable at the same time, be it for 15, a couple of hours, or the whole day. We are those people. And it's our insane ridiculous key pounding which makes this community STRONG. Hence the "Wonderful Spam" and "Lovely Spam".
Plus, WE OWE IT TO OURSELVES TO HAVE MONTY PYTHON GRACE THIS SANCTUARY.
Or we could just get a song from Wesley Willis or DJ Adolf. :darkstar:
