how would I set up a proxy or what not so I can access IRC using the same proxy I use to get on the interweb


 


172.21.1.40 port 8080


 


I got irc installed and have never used firewalls before

Software or hardware firewall? If software what brand?

If it is a hardware firewall then you will most likely need to know the administrative information. I.E. router cofigurations.

Almost all software firewalls have a icon that sits in the task tray. Check all the tray icons and look for one you don't recognize. Do a Google Search for software you don't know to find out if it is a firewall. If you find a firewall software then check the website for some sort of help link.

Anyone who thinks Win2K is cool isn't really working Tech Support... unless they live in some BFE backwoods place like Utah.
