To use a proxy in mIRC just go to Options > Connect > Firewall. Select server under firewall support, then select proxy under protocol. Enter the IP and port below, login/pass isn't need on public proxys. mIRC can work on any port, assuming the proxy server is configured to accept connections on that port. However, the proxy you use for web browing will most likely not work for IRC. You can probably get some IRC proxys from sub if thats what you need.

ps i use the tools ->internet options to set up and use the proxy in IE



Anyone who thinks Win2K is cool isn't really working Tech Support... unless they live in some BFE backwoods place like Utah.

Kungfubar you could also take a screenshot of the desktop so I can see if you are using a software firewall. If you are I can tell you how to disable it. If its hardware though I really cant help.
